    • How I Found PRG: My good friend and old room mate was dating a girl who skated with the New York league, Gotham Girls Roller Derby, and she was always saying how awesome it was. He was going to meet her at the Philly Roller Girls first ever exhibition bout, and he begged me to drive him, saying he'd pay my way in. I reluctantly agreed, never having seen derby before, or really having any kind of opinion about it. I then sat transfixed for the entire bout, just absorbing everything I was seeing, and somehow coming to the conclusion that I COULD DO THIS! which was odd for me since I was super shy, I had never been into sports, and was not even remotely athletic at the time, and hadn't skated in at least 15 years at that point. Tryouts were about 2 weeks after that first bout, and after buying some skates at the local sporting goods store, and rolling back & forth in my house for a week or so, went to tryouts & (somehow) made the cut. I haven't looked back since!
    • Worst Injury To Date: Probably having both ankles sprained (at the same time), a shoulder that was really sore for a couple months, a faint black eye, and a bunch of random bruises over the years. Luckily nothing too serious!
    • Derby Moment I'm Most Proud Of: My rookie season. I went from barely being able to skate and failing my first evaluation to being the top scoring jammer in my teams last bout that year,  to making the first ever Philly Roller Girls all-star team, the Liberty Belles! And at the leagues end of season awards party that year I won Most Improved,  Most Determined, and Best Attendance. That year was amazing for me since for the first time in my life I saw the direct results of hard work and determination really paying off. So, never give up!
